5 easy steps to making your own cake board
In the business of cake decorating it is not enough that your cake look beautiful and taste divine it is also essential to ensure that they can be transported safely to their destination and remain flawless during the wedding/event. One of the essential steps in this process is ensuring that your cake ts placed on a sturdy cake board. Using my 5 easy steps you will be able to create a cake board that is versatile and sturdy enough to accommodate a single tier or a 5 tired cake.
- 4 Cake boards
- Elmer’s Glue
- 5 lb bucket of fondant or anything heavy
Place a cake board on a flat surface.
Squeeze a generous amount of Elmer’s glue over the entire board.
Place the second cake board on top of the first and repeat the process until all 4 cake boards are sandwiched together.
Tap the edges of the boards on your flat surface to ensure that they are even.
Placing a heavy object (Satin Ice Fondant Bucket) on top of the sandwiched boards ensures that the entire surface sticks together. The heavy object should remain in place for approximately 5 to 10 minutes or until the glue dries .
